What is your next challenge? Are you ready to tackle your first, or a bigger and longer, multi-day, mountain bike stage race?

Selecting the appropriate challenge can be tricky. You need to find the perfect balance of an event that challenges you to grow while still being achievable. If you're new to multi-day stage events, it's best to start small. If you’ve done one before aim a little higher – perhaps an event with an extra day or more challenging terrain. Remember to be realistic and choose an event that matches the time and resources you can dedicate to the challenge.

The intensity of your event dictates your fueling strategy. For high-intensity rides, quick-acting nutrients with simple sugars like gels and carbohydrate and electrolyte drink mixes are ideal. These provide a rapid energy boost to help you power through. For lower-intensity rides, focus on consuming a variety of real foods with more complex carbohydrates and nutrients. These provide sustained energy and essential vitamins and minerals. If you're riding for more than three hours, it's crucial to eat "real" foods, not just rely on gels and a drink mix. This ensures you maintain energy levels and support overall health and performance.

We want you to go beyond your comfort zone, but still commit to an achievable event. If you don’t know where to start, we’re here to help you.
